Here are some examples of scripts that I have found on the BBC Writers Room. They are two examples of TV Comedy, and I have been using them to research the layout, dialogue, etc. or scripts used at the BBC.

I found another writing interview...

This time for teenagers!

Found something musical!

As the title says, I found something musical!

(Ah, the joys of Google!) I found an interview on about.com with radio worker Jon Myer. Apparrently, he works for BBC Radio 6.

He claims that it is easier to get a job in radio if you have already done something in the media, because lots of people apply for all the small vacancies. Hopefully, this "something in the media" involves singing on TV :)

He also says that if bands want to get their music played on a radio station, it is much easier to set the song on a CD, with the contact details, release details, etc.

So, taking that into account, I suppose that means that to work in a radio station, it's better to have the right qualifications (which I'm assuming are something in music and media), but to have music played on the radio, the only thing you need is a good song (and a CD writer).

New Writing Site!

Hi again!

In my search for new writing tips, my teacher Mr. O'Hara directed me here: www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom

It's a section of the BBC website, and I found it really helpful. You can read interviews, get tips on writing scripts, and even read scripts that have previously been shown on TV.

They will even read your work!

I think I might send in a script there later, once it's finished, edited etc., although I might wait until I've finished this course.


If there are any writers or musicians in the Glossop area willing to give me some advice on how to make it into the creative industry, please leave me a comment here, I'd really appreciate it!

Hi, I'm Eve. I'm a student at Glossopdale Community College and I'm studying the Creative and Media Diploma at GCSE level (we should come out with the equivalent of six GCSEs at the end.)

At the moment, we are studying job oppourtunities in the Creative and Media sector (sounds posh, but it really just means how to find a job in something creative. Fun).

The areas I am interested in are Creative Writing and Music.
